A New Online Retailer That Is So Fetch

Mean Girls' Gretchen Wieners might finally get her wish. Fetch is about to catch on ... at least among fashion fanatics. Fresh on the online retail scene is Farfetch -- a brand spanking new virtual boutique (the brainchild of the founder behind b Store) that stocks upwards of 200 different up-and-coming lines. Farfetch’s mission is simple: provide access to the 20 best independent boutiques from 10 cities across the globe.
As the site’s press release puts it: “the boutiques we work with are a carefully chose collection of Europe’s most respected and loved fashion emporiums, like Maria Louisa and Olga in Paris; b Store, Beyond the Valley and Feathers in London; Henrik Vibskov’s The-V-Store and Paristexas in Copenhagen.” Designers are divided into three sections—Luxe, Lab, and Cult—and include the likes of Ksubi, Christopher Kane and Moncler. One brand they won’t be carrying, however, is Clemens en August; their collections remain some of the hardest to find in the world. Fortunately for fans of the especially exclusive brand (devotees include boldfacers like Emily Blunt, Claudia Schiffer, and James McAvoy), the line will be on sale for six days (October 13-19) in London in conjunction with the Frieze Art Fair.
