Adam Lambert Greeted With Golden Showers of Shame in New York

Our America is a cruel, unforgiving place. It's stingy on comeuppance and a bit topsy-turvy on karmic distribution. A cratered landscape where woman-beaters get cast as last-minute replacements for gay men who have the verve to perform mock fellatio. Even if more repulsive stabs at attention-grabbing were more openly overplayed in the past. It's a land dotted with slimy same-sex haunts that can at once make you feel god-like while tearing asunder the last few shreds of your dignity. And oh man, does Adam Lambert, he of conveniently flaky sexuality, know such internal discord well. While most of us spent yesterday picking fights at toy stores or comatose, Adam Lambert was busy enjoying a warm, unnerving rain of bodily fluid.
’)
Corroborated by tweets like this and this, it seemed a club patron decided to go #1 on the dancefloor from an elevated platform. He was peeing with such reckless abandon, that Lambert weathered much of the urinal downpour. He fought back by chucking his cocktail at the urinator. Sassy! Though further tweets insist it was all in “good fun.” “Good fun”! Like how all typical exchanges of body fluids for rum-based drinks tend to be! Update! Seems it could’ve also been staged performance art? Err, okay.
Meanwhile, sparklecows took the opportunity to vent their outrage, an art-form they’ve nearly perfected. Pundits could’ve meanwhile used this opportunity to draw a parallel between his “piss-poor” reception at the club and a similar critical reception of his debut album. But they were probably too busy doing a rain dance under that same vaguely fish-scented mist themselves.

That was not real pee!!! It was a gag! Adam said in his twitter that he “freaked” when it happened.

It was not ACTUAL pee, it was fake and was part of an ACT. It was meant in good fun! Everyone was laughing, including Adam. You should get your facts straight before bashing Adam.
By the way, critical and public reception of his album have been GOOD. Sales are even better than expected.

LOL.
Despite the fact that they put it together in less than 3 months, Lambert’s album is actually solid.

It irritates me when writers will skew facts just to get in a trite pun. Adam’s debut album is actually getting rather favorable reviews with just a few critical dissenters (two of whom clearly preferred ballads and classic rock anthems to pop and approached the review from a personal taste standpoint rather than one based on musicality). Most of his reviews have come in between 3 and 4 1/2 stars of out 5, with most the more negative comments being centered around the songs themselves, not the performance of those songs.

The incident happened at The Box in NYC. In the show, they replicate as if someone is peeing into the audience. No one, including Lambert was actually urinated on.
I was there. He was with quite a fashionable crowd. If you ask me, Lambert should stay in NYC and receive better advise than he is getting on the tacky west coast.
Christian Siriano could serve him well.

For heaven’s sake put the note about it being a staged performance—fake urine not “that Lambert weathered much of the urinal downpour”—further up in the article.
Look, you may have a problem w/ Lambert’s sensationalist grab at attention and at the tranny’s sensationalist grab at attention at The Box, but does this mean that you yourself must make a sensationalist grab at attention in this post by suggesting for 2/3 of the post that Lambert got peed on and liked it?
Give me a freaking break, hypocrit.

Is this a “gay” ritual? Negative or Positive? I think Adam does his own thing and some folks are so jealous or intimidated by his superior talents that they have to resort to their “bottom-feeding” traits. With all the nasty diseases on this planet why the “piss on you” antics are even considered I can’t figure it out.

You should check your facts. The incident you wrote of was part of the performance. It was a device the performer rigged to make it look like he was doing what you refer to, but it did not actually happen. Even Adam throwing the drink on him was arranged in advance. Once again, you have your facts wrong. What a sorry excuse for journalism.

Tweet from Adam Lambert today, 11/28/09 - Tranny pee: performer rigged device to make it seem like he was peeing on front row during show. It was a funny trick. We all freaked!

Hey, get your story straight ... there were no “bodily fluids” involved ... @adamlambert tweets “Tranny pee: performer rigged device to make it seem like he was peeing on front row during show. It was a funny trick. We all freaked!”
