Baird Jones Reported Dead

Yankees fan, New York nightlife fixture, and part-time gossip is rumored to have passed away.

Baird Jones was recognized about town for his Yankees cap, which he wore just about everywhere he went—and he went everywhere. The unofficial Webster Hall curator, and gossip writer for the Daily News and the Post, is rumored to have died of natural causes. The Daily News writes that they received an email from Ken Emerson saying, “After a disturbing lack of response by Baird to my emails and calls I had police emergency services break open the door to his apartment. This happened 5 hours ago [approximately 10.30pm Thursday, EST]. Baird is no longer with us. He died of natural causes.” —N.H.
