Bill Clinton and George W. Bush Unite Against Uniting
November 04, 2009
What was slated to be a knuckle-duster bloodbath of political discourse and childish name calling between former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton at Radio City Music Hall has been canceled. The event, part of a series called “Minds That Move the World” was JUST ANNOUNCED TODAY. How quickly our dream of reading online snippets the proceeding day came to a crashing halt when the Presidential camps found out that a concert promoter was acting unscrupulous. The NY Post (known for its unabashed subtlety) reports that the “death-match faceoff” was envisioned more so as a moderated mani/pedi than as a contemporary restaging of the Final Match in Bloodsport. While this is the official rationale given by Clinton spokesperson Matt Mckenna it is clear that the real reason lies beyond.
The basis for the dissolution is undoubtedly the realization Will Ferrell and Daryl Hammond would have no choice but to parody the debate at a later date after no one cared. And that would make our hearts sad and angry and they’re not in that business anymore. According to the New York Daily News prices ranged from $60 to $1,250 for seats. Money well spent to watch two men in French cuffs fumfer and boast while you try to decide what you’d let them to do you if no one ever found out.
