Knowing Bill personally, yes it would be true that he would show up at a private party unannounced, wash dishes at St Andrews. But the part about him being abusive and addicted to drugs is UNTRUE. Yes he likes to keep his life low key. But he will do the craziest things on a whim. The roles he plays in movies is the same way he is in person. Not being prejudice, he is my favorite comedian.

Worried about Bill....the bag over his head. I've heard rumors of him being suicidal. I hope those rumors are false. I worry about him. I pray for him.

A kid at my old high school told me that once he was working at a sub shop with someone who met Bill Murray in a similar way. A man came into the restaurant, ordered a sandwich, and paid with a credit card. When the guy saw the name on the card, he looked up and recognized who was buying the sandwich. By then Bill had signed the receipt. He simply said "No one will ever believe you." And left the shop.

@AnotherVersion - There are a bunch of "urban myths" floating around about Bill Murray and that phrase. I've heard about one involving Washington Square Park late at night and another involving the NQRW. Either he's out there having a lot of fun or the story's just morphing, either way it's pretty bad ass.

I wouldn't worry about Bill. The bag is a prop in a photo. I think we all have our demons and even if he has his own, I'm sure he has been dealing with them for years. I think everyone should just focus on the wonderful things he's doing and be excited for him doing this interview! Of course, I absolutely understand your concern though, about anyone. Hopefully that's not true though. Alas, really awesome article.

Easily the finest actor of our generation. I watch Life Aquatic when I need a re-affirmation of life.
