Buenos Aires: Top Nomadic Parties

To thoroughly embrace debauchery in Buenos Aires, follow the city's roving parties. Whether it's a clandestine affair that goes on for days or a popular night that keeps getting juggled from club to club, there's always something on that's more interesting than your usual resident DJs or endless bottle service.

● Trashmission - Underground party in themed installments by the folks behind Wicked magazine. Expect a lady DJ from Berlin who actually uses vinyl, one-half of Nexus 6 playing something gloomy, and a whole lot of well-dressed semi-broke artists.
● Kim y Novak Ballroom - The duo who brought you porn stars dancing on tables until 7 in the morning while all the girls, boys, and boys who look like girls stand in line for the bathroom clean up their act a little. This bimonthly, classier version of Kim y Novak has multiple DJs, lots of fierce drag queens, and the added bonus of getting you a spot as an extra in a porno film (not even joking).

● Club Namunkura - Is the Kim Y Novak crowd not pierced or tattooed enough for you? Head to wherever location is housing Namunkura, usually a legit club of some sort. More glitzy than an underground party but with a whole lot of serious weirdo characters. Resident drag DJ Towa Ginger is semi-famous for playing the Four Seasons party for Madonna’s Brazilian boy toy.
● Creme de la Creme - Julio Fernandez picks his favorites and throws a fabulous party, which has happened everywhere from Niceto to Kika. French DJs, local band Modex fresh off their Russian tour, and any number of cute girls with guitars have played in the past.
● Brandon Gayday - There’s Casa Brandon, your go-to spot for gay stuff in Buenos Aires that isn’t in a club the size of an airport hanger, and then there’s Brandon Gayday. The party moves around town but consistently has super-cute boys and girls of ambiguously flexible sexual orientations, usually getting sloppy and then just getting flexible, either in the bathroom or a dark corner.
● Fiesta Invasion - Better than your typical multi-room club night, Invasion lands a respectable, albeit young crowd, and famous local bands and DJs. It, too, has managed to commandeer Niceto from time to time.
● WARCLUB - Vaguely associated with Appetite Gallery and Daniela Luna, who uses it to throw those parties that can’t quite pass as gallery openings. Past endeavors included a gigantic mattress room for passing out or hooking up. These clandestine evenings usually aren’t over until eleven the next morning.
● Zizek - Not quite your regular roving club night, a number of local musicians wrangled by expat Grant Dull managed to hit it big, with one party netting Diplo to DJ alongside wide-eyed electro-cumbia kids. Dull is hard at work expanding his night from just a Thursday dance thing to a globe-hopping brand name.
● Sympathy for the Party - Perhaps electro cumbia and house don’t do it for you? One of the less embarrassing takes on embracing rock and roll is at this party, where hearing The Velvet Underground and Suicide seems moderately legit, even if only in context. Has hopped around from place to place and now seems to have landed at Kika.
● Instant Kissing Party - Another genre-hopping, somewhat scattered take on the roving party. This one’s been known to pack The Roxy, so if that’s your scene, you might really like to hear Alfonso El Pintor’s hand-picked selection of other DJs.
