Cole Haan Presents Angel Taylor

Things heated up musically on Friday night as singer/songwriter Angel Taylor bared her sole -- err, soul -- for an intimate half-hour acoustic set at the Cole Haan store in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle.

The 21-year-old native of California performed songs from her debut release Love Travels in addition to covering a song by labelmate Adele. Taylor’s ethereal vocals and rogue way she takes control of the microphone rivals that of more seasoned performers twice her age, setting her up for some may-jah future success. The only problem I found was staying focused on Angel and not the multitude of shoes ogling me from behind her. My sights shifted simultaneously between Taylor and the most darling pair of slingbacks.
