Fine and (Baudelairian) Dandy
Unruly Heir makes a clean break from Nantucket prepsters with their limited edition seersucker hoodies.
July 26, 2007
Designers Joey Goodwin and Curtis Rose have always been torn between two very different sartorial codes. Should they channel the swagger of 19th century Dandies, or embrace the sweaty aesthetic of basketball junkies on West 4th? In the end, a patchwork—brought together by both styles—forms the basis of Unruly Heir’s limited edition five-piece capsule collection. Who did they turn to for help? Oh, you know, the usual iconoclasts—Baudelaire, the Duke of Windsor, Harold Hunter, and, um, Sid Vicious. With an eye for tailored eccentricity, the collection boasts some refreshing pieces, from the slim-fit seersucker hoodie to the reversible bowtie. It's all handmade in the city, so swipe your card, bag the goods, and flash your new digs down at the “Cage.” —Nick Haramis
