Just last week images of +J — Jil Sander’s highly anticipated follow up collection to her first for Japanese retailer Uniqlo — dropped. And now it’s Sonia Rykiel’s turn. Rykiel’s second line for H&M debuts this spring. While her first focused on lingerie and bedroom attire that moonlighted as club gear (e.g. a very glam, floor-length nightgown), this spring it’s all about knits. But, thanks to Nitrolicious landing a look book of the entire line, shoppers won’t have to wait until warmer weather to preview the goods.

Included in the collection are distinctly french styles whose bright palette calls to mind the Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Stripes are omnipresent: on socks, tanks, jumpers and dresses that fall above-the-knee. Embellished leggings (far more demure than Christopher Kane’s for Topshop), sailor shorts and a vest are among other pieces. The line is cute and whimsical — signature characteristics of Rykiel’s designs — and is appropriately cheerful for spring.
