From the Founders of ‘Fantastic Man’ Comes ‘Gentlewoman’

As I've mentioned in the past, Fantastic Man (the brainchild of Gert Jonkers and Jop van Bennekom, the founders of the self-proclaimed "pink fag rag" Butt), is one of my favorite fashion magazines -- despite the fact that it covers all things boys-only. Well, according to Susie Bubble, mine and every other Fantastic Man-loving reader with breasts' prayers have been answered: a women's companion rag is in the works, and "it's going to be called Gentlewoman and the first issue will be launched in spring/summer 2010."

Susie got her hands on a preview of the magazine, and it looks as though there’s no chance of the real thing disappointing. There’s a fashion shoot with cone bras as seen on Louise Goldin’s runway recently at LFW SS10 shows (a trend that, yes, you heard it here, is going to be the new no-pants). There’s also a spread of PR maven Karla Otto (who handles heavyweights like Thakoon) looking very vixenly in various skin-tight black fashions. And, as no gentlewoman only cares about fashion, there’s food for thought like an article on “the power of napping.”

Jonkers had this to say about the mag: “It’s a magazine about and for amazing woman. It will be inspiring, it’ll have great journalism, I hope it’ll be super good fun too. Of course it’ll look at personal style, and business, power, art ...” Just in time for the holidays, a subscription to the not-yet-debuted rag is definitely hitting high on the wish list.
