In just three years, fashion blogger Garance Dore has gone from obscurity to scoring her own agent. Apparently, the French photographer who is known both for her ephemeral images and her romantic ties to fellow blogger Scott Schuman of the Sartorialist, “has been barraged with so many brands seeking tips and advice that she has hired U.S.-based agent Walter Schupfer,” says WWD. After all, with a brand new gig contributing to French Vogue (she’s their sole blogger) and a limited edition line of tees for the Gap under her belt, it’s a lot to keep track of.
WWD recently spoke with the blogger about what drives traffic on her site. Dore says it’s about getting personal: “when I talk about something personal I get more visits. I feel a bit like a character in a movie.…The day I announced my collaboration with Gap, I received 500 comments in one day.” As for the future, Dore divulges she’s “also developing the graphics for a product-based project I’m working on with Scott [Schuman] and negotiating my participation in a potential TV program that would begin next year.” So, apparently Schuman’s new clothing line and TV show aren’t just solo projects. The world may be overrun with fashion-based reality TV shows but if both of these photogenic bloggers end up moving forward with this one, it’s bound to be good.
