Sunday (Day of the Sun), as the name of the first day of the week, is derived from Egyptian astrology. St. Justin is the first Christian writer to call the day Sunday. Tradition has consecrated Sunday to the public worship of God by the hearing of the Mass and the resting from work.

i agree with steve’s assertions but must diss 1oak a little bit. the people, decor, and drinks are top notch but the music is a total buzzkill which is kind of important when the drinks are $18 a pop. the club can’t claim to be stylish with music that is second rate and that can be found at any b&t watering hole. i understand the idea of inclusion, but jarring transitions and bon jovi are best left to the sticks. see the box for mixing top 40 with style.

for club purposes sunday is and has always been the last day of the week, the afterthought of saturday, the lets get it on before monday the first day of the week comes. sunday is part of the” week end “ and when you have a monday off peeps say it’s” a 3 day weekend. “ now for the world outside clubs, the nine to fivers, the b and t’s, the filler, the “patrons” another calendar may apply but not to me.

there are places where serious music heads might enjoy a more pure form of music and i sometimes will go for that. 1oak is a party and the music might not be as serious as you like because serious sometimes isn’t as fun. 1oak offers fun fare to a crowd which is seriously more fun and seriously hotter than the clubs in this niche.
