steve, who is your predecessor?

i think i was a survivor rather than a great talent.. at least early on.. i worked for so many club legends steve and ian , rudolf, maurice brahms, peter gatien, john giliuani, arthur weinstein, frank roccio, john argento, peter frank all were very different but all gave me their version of it. i gleamed what i needed and became me. i guess rudolf’s era ended as my 15 minutes came along. he was irreplaceable i just did my thing. i havent seen anyone do my thing since i went down..no brag just fact.

ohh suite 16...how I missed you!
Sigh I still haven’t been able to get into Avenue..can I namedrop Steve Lewis lol?
Tenjune is still A list?

Maybe I need some more posts on my site (http://www.ilivenightlife.com) to gain some notice in nightlife in NYC.

Overall...a spot on list of the changing of the guard!
Sunny.

but who has the potential?  theres no one around you see yourself in?  all the “predecessors” youve mentioned lack a certain chutzpah- as their “icons” do.  i think a lot of your “talent” lays in your conviction.  curious if anyone like that is out there- or if thats part of the reason for the lack of inspired nightlife…

interesting the difference between me and many is that i travel well in many crowds.. last night i judged a ball at the box for a mostly gay crowd then off to the gates for a very straight crowd. i was equally received at both venues and embrace both crowds. i am most at home in a grungy rock hole in the wall like lit or with the afternoon lunch crowd at tavern or gitane. i love the bea.. few travel well from crowd to crowd. my clubs were mixes of people. i see operators who are great at one group or maybe 2...i think thats what separates these club operators from me.

The cast of Gossip Girl was at Tenjune last night. They’ve been selling magnums regularly and last thursday they were sold out of tables. It’s still safe to say EMM Group is doing well. They’re some of the most organized people to work with as well.

We’re forgetting a few names, and its troubling to see Emma Cleary next to Amy Sacco, but overall, I’d agree with most of these…
But...where is Francious, Aramis, and the (former) PM team?  Not to mention Mr. Lewis himself, who might be the only real-deal icon since Rubell…

francois and aramis sure but are they icons yet?, i think any is a tough replacement or she might have replaced herself already since cloning isnt ready yet.. but emma and patrick bring the same kind of honest to goodness and badness fun that endeared me to bungalow back in the day… as far as i am concerned i will tap into sir isaac newton and say if i accomplished anything at all its because i stood on the shoulders of giants
