steve
thanks for posting this...I was only notified about this candidate yesterday and as he won the Democratic primary, a wise owner from the LES wrote me last night and said that since he’s going to win the election, we should seek to educate him and perhaps open his eyes to the importance that nightlife has both in terms of jobs and revenue, and for NY’s worldwide reputation...hopefully someday, politicians will stop using nightlife as an easy target and start speaking up for the NY that got us all to move here in the first place and that brings over 40 million tourists a year…
go Obama!

David,I’m confused. You, the club association, are among the only people that seem to be happy with giuliani et al military state that is ny. Sure, let’s make ny safe for tourists. That’s cool. Who cares about people who actually are from ny? Who cares about people who earn less than $500,000? I mean, they can’t spend $14 for a martini, so they don’t believe in your world!

“Wise owner from the LES” indeed.

I’m worried about Squadron, yes. But c’mon! Philly is nto a real city. Are you crazy? Every shuts down there before midnight. And it’s closed on the weekend. You can’t compare New York to Philly in any realistic terms of nightlife.

at least state senator elect squadron is addressing the issues of nightlife. i believe, as does david rabin ,that if the facts are known that any reasonable person would see the merit of our argument. like david i look forward to an opportunity to be heard and explain the realities of ny nightlife to someone who is paying attention.  it is true that he got like 86 % of the vote but most democrats were in the 95% range. there was little doubt he would win. he’s obviously bright lets hope for the best as nightlife is in serious trouble
