"Moscow Mule?" asks the waiter, as he proudly displays a sticky-sweet tray populated by an assortment of cocktails named after Russian donkeys. "Mule?" we italicize. He might as well have offered me a Burger Meat-tini. Still, thirsty, we drink. This is the last time our friend will come bearing gifts. You see, the private dinner to celebrate the launch of Unruly Heir at Bloomingdale's quickly devolved into a spectacle of starving socialites and double kisses at Thor.
Sponsored by Evian, Imperia, and Sportswear International, the event brought out singer Natasha Bedingfield, actress Leven Rambin, model Alexandra Richards, designers Gilles Mendel, Frank Tell, and Miguelina Gambaccini, and Men’s Vogue’s Hud Morgan. All the socialite-y ones were there too, of course: Annabel Vartanian, Luigi Tadini, and New York PR’s answer to Batman and Robin—Posh and Becks?—Kristian Laliberte and Timo Weiland.
The event at Bloomingdale’s earlier that evening was as great as an event at Bloomingdale’s earlier that evening could have been. There was vodka and music (courtesy of Brit and Virgil Price), and 83 seersucker hoodies. We took ours off.
The food afterwards was delicious, the company eclectic and electric, but we were there for free clothes. They’re pretty fantastic.
