Helena Christensen Channels Sarah Palin for Agent Provocateur
November 04, 2008
Agent Provocateur’s latest ad campaign takes place in a world where female pirates rule and wine flows like water. A slew of scantily clad models -- which includes such recognizable faces as seasoned supermodel Helena Christensen and newbie Alice Dellal -- show off a whole lot of flesh and a wide range of weaponry (knives, pistols, and swords included) in the Brit lingerie label’s latest ads. The campaign is typical AP: two parts theatrics to two parts exposed skin, which altogether makes for a pretty entertaining final package.
That said, there is one particular shot of Christensen (see above) modeling a look called Esme that I found a bit unsettling. Maybe it’s the hair, but the photo bears a striking resemblance the photoshopped, gun-totting, bikini-clad images of Sarah Palin that have been so ubiquitous these last few months ... not exactly a turn-on. Regardless, one thing is for sure—the pirate trend is in full effect for fall (apparent everywhere from above-the-knee boots to lots of fringe and fur). For more, click here for a video that’s decidedly NSFW (but well worth watching for Helena Christensen’s sword fight sans skirt).

I am not sure I am crazy about these ads… I think Helena is supergorgeous and her recent edits for Italian GQ and Man About Town proves it for 10000 %… I don’t know I was expecting something more interesting…
