Her Love Isn’t For Real, Actually

Something happened on last night’s installment of "American Idol" that we can only describe as… curious. Even non-"Idol" fans (you’re out there, aren’t you?) can bask in wicked delight after watching this clip, available after the jump, in which woozy judge Paula Abdul makes the mistake to end all mistakes—wait, mistake doesn’t do it justice. How about gaffe? Blunder? Cataclysmic unholy turkey of a fuck-up?
It occurred when the judges were asked to review the first round of performances by the top 5, which they had written down. When it came time for Paula (who foreshadowed the mix-up by saying something stupid: “Oh gosh—we’ve never had to write these things down, uh, fast enough") to lay it on Jason Castro, she critiqued his first song, and then took it upon herself to critique his second one too. Only thing is, he’d yet to sing it. We can only speculate that “American Idol” is fixed, but so is wrestling, and we still watch that every Monday night.

Don’t you wish it were Noel G who made that mistake? I wouldn’t be the only one commenting. Oh right this is about Paula ... what did you expect from a ditzy junkie?
