BREAKING: US Airways Flight 1549 took off from LaGuardia Airport and crash-landed into the Hudson River, and passengers are being evacuated now. The fight was en route to Charlotte. From an AP report: "Witness Barbara Sambriski, a researcher at The Associated Press, said, 'I just thought, 'Why is it so low?' And, splash, it hit the water.'" From a blogger: "holy shit. I was working at home and i just saw a pilot ditch a us airways plane in the hudson river."
“we all ran to the window b/c it was flying so low and so fast by my apartment window, we knew something was up, and then it just kept getting lower. this is horrible. so scary. i’ve never seen anythign like this. this pilot is a hero if he saved these people, b/c he put it down so smooth. i hope they can get people off into boats.”
And there: via Silicon Alley Insider, a citizen journalism shot of what’s going on. It’s news, so we stole it.
