Icon Redux: James Dean @ Hotel Gansevoort
Chris Mohney
August 27, 2008
As promised! We're very pleased to introduce the first episode of Icon Redux, an original BlackBook video series in partnership with Two Penguins Productions. We're taking classic, iconic personalities at their best (and/or most revealing) and recasting them with contemporary, hot, about-to-break personalities of the very near future. For this installment, young actor Yann Bean re-enacts James Dean's famous 1955 "driving safety" interview on the set of Giant, shortly before his death in a car accident; Yann's version takes place in a suite at New York's Hotel Gansevoort. After the jump, see the original interview, plus tips on what's to come.
The original James Dean interview:
Coming up: Check out our behind-the-scenes notes. Later, Audrey Hepburn gets angry at foolish questions, and Truman Capote interviews Marlon Brando.

HEY! I know that sexy man. I think I worked with him once or twice..... ;) You look hot. And you know I can’t lie....great direction too! I also think its funny that your name has the same rhythm...Yann Bean is James Dean.

Bravo Yann,
je suis heureux de voir ce que tu as dans le bid.
Meme si je ne comprend pas tout ce que tu baragouine (et cela est du a mon manque de pratique), tu as un beau jeu et ta personalite ressort parfaitement a l’ecran.
Continue a bien t’eclater!
