Japanese Porn Grows Old

One of the more recent trends in American cinema was adapting Japanese horror movies. The Ring, The Grudge, and The Eye, all came from the Land of the Rising Sun. Here’s hoping that Japan’s latest cinematic trend catches on soon. Old People Porn.

Time.com shares an interesting piece on the rise in popularity of elderly porn, in what is typically considered one of the most sexless Westernized societies. Read the article and meet Shigeo Tokuda, a 74-year-old man who’s starred in over 350 adult films in the last 14 years, including the classics Maniac Training of Lolitas and Forbidden Elderly Care. Glory Quest is the prestigious production house behind these old classics, and p.r. guy (or girl) Kayoko Iimura explains “If we only make standard fare, we cannot beat other studios. There were already adult videos with Lolitas or themes of incest, so we wanted to make something new. A relationship between wife and an old father-in-law has enough twist to create an atmosphere of mystery and captivate viewers’ hearts.” I agree.
