Haha...I love how Utada asked if you have a boyfriend and you completely dodged the question. She seems really down-to-earth and bookwormish, and when you compare that to the confidence of This is the One, there’s a cool dichotomy to her. I love the new album, Utada - keep tryin’!

I can’t believe it. 52 millions albums sold; she’s set for life. I love how she says that Love and relationships have always been a part of her life...& she’s so nonchalant about it. Love it.

Great interview, but I couldnt help but notice how nothing was mentioned about the fact that she’s been writing, composing and producing her own music since she was a kid.
To call her Japan’s “very own Britney” is a bit of an understatement.
Here in Japan, she is not seen as just another pop star with a bit of longevity, she is respected as a true musician and Japan’s top artist.

I understand that this interview was about her NY lifestyle, thus the title, but as a long time fan of Utada’s the comparison to Britney Spears just kinda irked me. Sorry for this rambling! Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed this seven minute read =).
