Kings of Leon Debut Flannel-Heavy Clothing Line

Kings of Leon are venturing into the world of fashion design. The Nashville-born band is following in the footsteps of fellow musicians-turned-designers like Beth Ditto of The Gossip (for Evans) and Liam Gallagher of Oasis (who calls his line, Pretty Green, "tasty"). The family of musicians -- the band consists of three brothers and their cousin -- is teaming with Paris-based creative collective Surface to Air to create a limited-edition collection that will retail exclusively at uber-chic Copenhagen boutique Paris Texas.

The move into fashion isn’t wholly surprising considering the band is synonymous with skinny jeans, flannels, leather boots, and wide-brimmed hats (e.g. the preferred wardrobe of hipster Brooklynites for the last few years). Not to mention KOL fans are notoriously crazy for flannel as well. The mountain-man staple makes appearances in the collection in both green and red versions; there’s a black leather bomber, patchwork dark denim and braided belts, and a red bandanna to boot. After all, the KOL boys have had a penchant for ”fancy clothes” for years. Note to prospective shoppers: the wares hit Paris Texas in early December, with only a few pieces of each style to be stocked. With KOL having just received five nominations for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, it’s likely there will plenty of Denmark bound KOL/STA to fend with come the launch.
