Kristian Laliberte Hacks Away at his Facebook Foe

Over the weekend, New York PR scenester, and upcoming reality TV star, Kristian Laliberte's Facebook account was hacked into, and the still unknown hacker sent a series of personal and offensive messages throughout his online network. This intrusion came weeks after Laliberte's Gmail account was broken into. Now, apparently, whoever did this is threatening to print out the incriminating email messages, which he or she will then hand deliver to the people mentioned in them. Yesterday, Page Six Magazine's Joshua David Stein reported on his blog that Laliberte was responsible for leaking stories about New York socialite Olivia Palermo, among others, to the press. It's a dicey position for someone in PR, to be sure. But, Laliberte stands by the claim that these messages have been doctored by someone with too much time on their hands. “Believe me, if I wanted to rat my friends out, I know secrets that could destroy their careers, and they know my secrets. All of my friends are people I love and trust. I’ve had fake friends who I now realize did throw me under the bus, but I have exorcised them from my life. As for Olivia Palermo, I never received the letter in the first place. And I certainly am not going to supply information to a website that caused me to receive death threats. Josh Stein thrives on gossip. Anyone who spends their life writing negatively on other people is not someone whose opinion I value. I’m not sure if people are technologically illiterate, but if you forward an email to another account you can change the body of the email. This sick individual has spent days working on this. I feel bad for someone who is so clearly obsessed with hurting someone else. Facebook is investigating the matter and the authorities will then be contacted.”
