how has madonna ever presented herself as non-human? i've never understood this notion. she's iconic, she's a warrior, she's aggressive, but this can all be attributed to her self-awareness, her resilience and her ability to rise above her insecurities and fears. all of her work is informed by her LIFE-force. that is human to me. o, and yes... hard candy was a desperate and pathetic sell-out album and, unlike her previous 11 studio albums, it has nothing new or innovative to offer, but i think she's earned her right to indulge in this type of material. perhaps hard candy is her most ironic album yet. anyway, future Madonna will be brilliant.
