M.I.A.’s Clothing Line Has Arrived

M.I.A.’s much-anticipated clothing line, Okley by M.I.A., has dropped. And for any serious fans of the (very pregnant) singer-songwriter’s inimitable style, the vibrant -- in some cases potentially seizure-inducing -- looks are a must-have. Particularly of note is a pair of relatively tame Afrika leggings, which, at $85, will spice up any look with their textile-heavy style. Pair them with the matching Afrika jacket, however, and you’re going to need serious cred to pull the ensemble off.

Also sure to sell out quicker than you can say Kala is the President Tee, which is loaded with triangle graphics on the back and a pillbox hat and sunglasses-adorned portrait of M.I.A. on the front. Considering the London-born, Sri Lankan-bred 31-year-old is the scion of a politically active father; perhaps the prospect of her holding office one day isn’t so far off. Meanwhile, with Alexander Wang’s diffusion line also just debuting, my head is spinning with how to justify buying clothes for oneself in the midst of holiday high season.
