I just lived in Montreal for 4 years and moved back to NYC in June...Can’t tell you how excited I am for this!!!

Anyone who has so much as smelled the Mtl bagel knows of its vast superiority. I did the NYC bagel pilgrimage. My faith was not challenged.

Poutine rocks.  There are a number of places in NYC that already offer it though.  also, Montreal bagels do not even begin to compare with NY bagels.  Not even close.

I’ve lived in Montreal all my life. Fairmont wins by the way. But anyhow, you need authentic smoked meat, otherwise you’re only getting halfway there. And no, you can’t replicate it anywhere. You need to fly it in.

Now what I need is my Schwartz smoke meat in Brooklyn.  I have tried it all in NY, pastrami, corned beef, nothing beat Montreal’s smoke meat. Montréal tu me manques…
