I have frequented a few of these haunts and can say with confidence, nay, with RELISH, that what the woman speaks is truth!  Go forth and drink, fair New Yorkers..

While I don’t advocate taking anyone who has a fear of dirt and grime, an obvious omission is Continental, the NYU favourite. While the shots may be small and a bit watered down, at two dollars the price is right. Aside from that though, quite compelling.
