Space Hotel Deal: $4.4 Million for 3 Nights
November 04, 2009
A Spanish firm claims that by 2012, they're going to launch a resort in space. Clearly the resort will be only for the mega super rich folk because it's going to cost a pretty penny to get all the way out there. In fact, it will cost so much that even a billionaire could only afford it a little over 200 times. But hey, free velcro suit!
The Galactic Suite Space Resort say it will cost $4.4 million for a three-night stay at the hotel, with this price including an eight-week training course on a tropical island. During their stay, guests would see the sun rise 15 times a day and travel around the world every 80 minutes. They would wear Velcro suits so they can crawl around their pod rooms by sticking themselves to the walls like Spider-Man.
The whole thing sounds like a ploy to get some rich people really stoned and do donuts in a parking lot and say they tripped out in space, but here’s hoping this thing is actually legit. The website itself is kind of hilarious, as it features lots of non-sequitur concept images, like the space-traveling yoga practicioner above. However, there’s a blog, and you can even email for reservations. I still think you could do this whole thing for the price of some Maui Wowie and a rental car.
