Nicole Richie Wants to Get Bitchy for ‘Gossip Girl’

Not to be outdone by the fanfare of Georgina Sparks returning to the Upper East Side, Nicole Richie is eyeing a role on Gossip Girl. Pre-requisites for the appearance are simple and two-fold: The character must be ruthless and bitchy. It's reassuring to hear that Richie doesn't fear being typecast.

On a Gossip Girl casting scale ranging from Lisa Loeb (unmemorable) to Dorota (necessary), Richie’s appearance seems like it would fall smack dab in the middle of the two. After all, with the Constance Billard School for Girls already brimming with bitchery, the demand for yet another snarling, backbiting socialite seems tepid at best. Unless we also count her Shih Tzu as another special guest star. If she does secure the role, this would be a plum opportunity for Richie to one-up ex-BFF Paris Hilton, who once upon a time got a little camera time on another popular soap by the same showrunner.
