‘Office’ Star Moonlights as Fashion Blogger

It turns out Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t the only actress as of late to take to writing about fashion on the web. According to College Candy, Mindy Kaling (a.k.a. Kelly from The Office) is likewise showcasing her sartorial savvy in the form of a blog entitled "things I bought that I love." While one might expect the platform to be chock-full of ditzy anecdotes à la Kaling’s television persona, it’s quite the opposite.

From rants on her favorite mascara du jour (Gerlain’s double-ended version), to a roundup of chic coats in the same vibrant yellow palette, the blog offers musings both entertaining and helpful. And, of course, they’re all delivered with a hefty side of humor. To boot, Kaling shows no fear in the face of shattering myths about Manhattan, be they dumpling- or Leonardo DiCaprio-based. My favorite line so far: “I was staying in the Lower East Side, in the lovely Bowery Hotel. It’s like the movie ‘Clue’ in there, guys. Except Colonel Mustard is Lindsay Lohan.” Yeah, and her weapon-of-choice is a water bottle filled with Absolut.
