Over-the-Knee Boots Bound for Ubiquity This Fall
June 04, 2009
Say goodbye to over-the-top shoulders and hello to over-the-knee boots. The latter are shaping up to be fall's most must-have wardrobe staple. Showcased on Prada's FW09 catwalk in the form of thigh-high fishing waders, they also made Rodarte's FW09 runway as equally lengthy lace-up leather boots courtesy of Nicholas Kirkwood, a longtime collaborator of the Mulleavy sisters, Nicholas Kirkwood. Then you have the versions in gold surfacing at Louis Vuitton, while pirate-appropriate pairs were seen at Gareth Pugh. Now offering a clog counterpart to the aforementioned OTK boot options is none other than NYC's No. 6.
Style.com says, “the brand has been doing steady business on its ankle- and knee-high versions of the boot for a few seasons now—as noted, the clog never really went away—but the over-the-knee clog boot is poised to square the circle on two key fall trends.” So, start saving up for your OTK boot-of-choice now. Or, just follow Vogue’s Lauren Santo Domingo’s lead and DIY.
