Rachel Zoe On Size 0 & Psychology
August 17, 2009
Rachel Zoe held a conference call today in anticipation of the second season of The Zoe Project, which debuts on Bravo on August 24th, as well as in honor of a hefty handful of other recently-launched endeavors from Zoe's empire. With her GOOP-meets-Daily Candy newsletter making its way to inboxes everywhere and a collaboration with QVC in the works, Zoe, not surprisingly, isn't sleeping much. (The latter is a line of accessories--scarves, bags, faux fur and sunglasses included, which will partially debut in conjunction with NYFW before the entire line hits QVC online and on TV exclusively in October.) From her dreams of being a psychologist to her favorite fledgling designers, hit the jump to see what Zoe had to say.
On her favorite look for fall: “An amazing tuxedo jacket with a white tee or button-up, a great pair of jeans and heels. It’s a great look for everybody.”
On looking back at last season of The Zoe Project: “I thought, ‘oh my god do I really look like that everyday?’ I need less hair, less makeup, less everything. I can’t even watch it. It was way too much of everything. Why didn’t anyone tell me I looked like that?”
On size zero: “Not one of my clients is a size zero. It’s not the norm.”
On what she would have been if not a stylist: “I thought I was going to be a psychiatrist. I was a sociology/psychology major in college. I changed mind at 22.”
On the young designers she’s most excited to see at NYFW: “I love Prabal Gurung, Thakoon… I love Jason Wu. There’s a bunch. I’m really liking Chris Benz. There are a lot of goodies and a lot of new young talent.”
On what’s next: “I’m getting ready to do another book. I always said I’d do my next one when I had enough to say. It will definitely be a wealth of information.”

Rachel’s clients may not be a size zero, but Rachel is like a size -1. I have never seen her eat anything on her show besides a green leaf and Starbucks. She can say that she is naturally that way, but no one “naturally” looks like a victim of the Hollocaust. Love the show though.
