The US resistance to the films mentioned probably have more to do with their pro-socialist leanings than the language used to film them.Pan’s Labyrinth, of course, is a visionary critique of Spain’s collective decision during the 30s to accept fascism.I should imagine the last thing the American rich feel their country needs is it’s helot colonies in Latin America getting a few inspired ideas in their heads.
