The Sully: Heroic Cocktail of the Hudson
February 16, 2009
Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger -- the Hero of the Hudson -- has his own cocktail! You might not want to order one of these drinks in the air, though (or at least wait until you're over water). But safely on the ground, why not toast the hero who wrestled his Airbus into behaving like a sleek sea plane. And they do they do seem a little tasty. I don't know anyone in town who's had one of these concoctions, but reports allege New Yorkers are downing them all over town.
Named “The Sully,” the drink is two shots of Grey Goose (ha!) vodka, and a splash of water served chilled in a martini glass. Clever! “It’s a classy drink for a classy man,” says one Sully fan. Over the weekend, the drinks were a hit at the Half Pint pub and cost $11. Happy flying. For once it’s us, not the pilots who are drunk.
