The Topless Flop

Leave it to a Canadian to create the topless flip-flop. Everything they do is quieter, cleaner, and just more simple. Now, one crafty Ottawa entrepreneur has set her sights on improving the basic summertime footwear staple -- the flip-flop -- and has invented a flip-flop-style sandal without the flip-flop thongs. The new topless sandals simulate walking barefoot, but with a comfy protective rubber sole. Just imagine, says creator Keri Oakley Lavier, "No more tan lines ... no more blisters ... nothing between your toes!" But wait, there's video!
Basically, topless sandals are the sole of a flip-flop that “sticks” to the bottom of your feet with a latex-free medicinal adhesive. (Try not to get aroused by that phrase.) They’re washable and reusable, they don’t leave any sticky residue on your feet when you take them off, and yet the “stick” is guaranteed for a year. Business is booming ... Lavier started selling topless sandals last summer, and sales were so strong, she quit her full-time job to devote all her time to topless flops.
