‘True Blood’ Spoilers: Evan Rachel Wood, Impending Genocide, Orange Soda

If you're weary of the filthy hedonism that True Blood's main maenad champions, Alan Ball has your number. And he has major designs for that and every other arc on the vampire soap. Although you can't totally despise a character whose actress states, "When someone offers you an entrance where you're standing in the middle of the road naked with a pig, you don't say no." Ball and the beautiful people of True Blood took to the nerdapalooza of Comic-Con this past weekend. But instead of calming the tempests in our hearts by dispensing a few juicy, spoilery crumbs, they stoked more fires. Thankfully, Ball was
If you’ve been watching, you’re well aware that Ball has been building up momentum for Sookie and the vampires to clash against Carrie Prejean’s church of choice. Ball promises that things will only get rockier as the second season storms on. More so for a budding love triangle among Sookie, Bill, and Eric the Great, the result of which has already been foretold in the books that inspired the series—and which may, in turn, be quite spoilerish. But Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, and Alexander Skarsgård all weigh in on the mired, thorny romance that looks to grow out of control before the season’s done.
Also before the finale: Evan Rachel Wood, as Sophie-Anne, the vampire queen of Louisiana. Here’s an epileptic slideshow produced to leave you breathless—shown at Comic-Con. Bear in mind, all of this happens before the second season closes out on September 6.
In short: there will be blood.
Season three, on the other hand, promises to expand the series’ bestiary by introducing werewolves and some of Bill’s cohorts from Mississippi (who some believe may walk among us.) But in doing so, Ball’s also nixing cameos by this fan favorite from the books. Most importantly, HBO and Ball are working on introducing a “True Blood” beverage this fall. And if only the FDA’s palms could be greased more openly, then the drink would probably include “cabernet, the blood of European hemophiliac royalty, vodka, Viagra, and ecstasy.” But you know, laws shmlaws! Laments Ball, “Unfortunately, it’s highly illegal.”
So the official tie-in drink will be bottles of fizzy orange soda, which, unlike Bill Compton’s drink of choice, will not taste good after being zapped in the microwave. Although I suppose it may comparable to human blood. Y’know, after six shots of Hornitos.

Vicky, I’m with you. Anna is a great actress, proven by an Oscar she won at 11 years old! I love this show and I love Anna...and...yes, I hope she hooks up with Eric! :)

This show is what it is, a cheap thrill :) None of the actors are really all that great. However, they do provide an entertaining amount of eye candy and for anyone who loves vampire stories, like I do, this show is very entertaining. I don’t think that Harris’ books can compare to the quality of Meyer’s but they were fun to read.

I don’t think the acting is too bad. I’d say they do pretty well with the script their given. And the actors have enough charisma to keep us coming back, despite the terrible one liners. I like that alan ball shows ususally casts virtually unknowns. The evan rachael wood cameo part, i’m not sure how I feel about it. But I am a huge fan of the books. For me charlaine harris has a sick sense of humour that will always keep me waiting for the next book. All that said I am really intrigued to see how they tie this season up. I can’t really see any kinda conlusion coming. Can’t wait to be surprised.

The acting is great. The show wouldn’t be so popular if the acting was terrible. I agree that they provide the eye candy =)

I really enjoy the show. I think the acting is fine. I like the anticipation of waiting for the next show. I’ll wait till after the season ends to read the books. Last season, it had some closure for the murders. I hope this season doesn’t end with a cliff hanger. Within the overall story are sub stories in which I hope are eventually developed. I truely look forward to next season.

This last episode was bizarre, exciting even after I watched it twice. I want to see more of Lafayette--he is hilarious and still such a man’s man. Also Eric. I’m hoping he will show up next week since he and Sookie are “linked” after she sucked his chest.

As season 2 progresses, I find myself more and more glamored by Eric the Great (love that) and less into Bill, who has become a giant sap. I hope that Sophie-Anne instills some of his former manliness back in him.
Although this show seems kind of crappy (Anna Paquin is a TERRIBLE actress), the story is compelling. And of course, Eric makes it all worthwhile :)
Good idea with making the True Blood the beverage. Bad idea with the orange fizz. I figured Clamato might suffice- perhaps with a twist.
