Where Was LCD Soundsystem?

Last night, at Openhouse Gallery's "Sound & Light" opening in Nolita, we explored the white art space looking for James Murphy. There were Lacroix brooches, ironic headbands, calf-hugging denim numbers—but no LCD Soundsystem in sight. The photos on the wall, by Brantley Gutierrez, were dazzling, however. In one room, images of Arcade Fire canoodling with LCD were displayed next to live shots of Dave Grohl and the Flaming Lips. In another room—where there was vodka—black-and-white photos overtook the area with a more subtle charm. But still, the only thing people could talk about was the absence of LCD.

Pat was on the decks all night… He’s one of the 3 members of LCD. I saw him clear as day.
