Tuesday night, stunning and funny Chloë Sevigny hosted BlackBook’s ”Hollywood Issue” party, along with Editor Steve Garbarino, Creative Director Bryan Erickson, BondST owner Jonathan Morr, and Thompson Beverly Hills hotelier Jason Pomeranc at the new BondST space on Wilshire Boulevard and Crescent Drive. Of course, the conversations were largely about the tragic death of Heath Ledger (most had heard about it only hours before), whom a large percentage of the 150 guests knew or admired greatly for his acting. Guests included Bill Murray, “John From Cincinnati” actor Brian Van Holt, Oscar-winning screenwriter William Monahan (and his lovely wife Wendy), Shelby and Tommy Chong (who looked quite debonair), Starworks hottie Allison Oleskey, celebrity photographers Steven Lippman, Shawn Mortensen, and Matthew Rolston, The New York Times writer Julia Chaplin, screenwriter Collin Friesen, members of Maroon 5, and a barrage of managers and other “business” hoo-hahs, not to mention a bevy of Endeavor agents (whose swanky offices are around the corner).
The sushi and buttery sea bass bites rolled and sakitinis flowed in the brand new, modernistic space, which is the Beverly Hills satellite of NoHo’s BondST. The hotel is yet to be fully completed, but the upstairs lounge—with its carved wooden niches and cool vibe—is a work of art, particularly the “Black Dahlia Lounge,” which BlackBook dubbed the James BondST Room. —The Management
