2(x)ist is basically like the Victoria's Secret for dudes -- underwear that does more than just keep the boys close to home, it provides something extra to look at when you're lounging around in the skivvs, and just think of all the scientific research that goes into ensuring a fit does more than support the goods. Before this enigmatic name in undergarments hit the scene, we had little more than black, white, and the occasional gray palette to accent the bare, but now even underthings experience seasonal change (and we're not referring to holiday prints). But for the first time, the underwear wizards have ventured to concentrate on what's on the outside and collaborated with one of the newest menswear go-tos, Commonwealth Utilities.

Fortunately, 2(x)ist isn't taking the ill-fated celebrity high road and venturing beyond their actual talent, i.e. they're sticking with underthings, but this capsule collection will no doubt deliver trunks, briefs, tank tops, and a variety of shirts with the same sartorial wonder as what Anthony Keegan, creative director of Commonwealth Utilities, sent down his Spring 2010 runway, cleverly staged at Astor Place Hair. And what better time to throw a few tanks into the mix, as the blazer-topped tank Miami Vice look has never been in such full re-swing.
