Jared Leto stole my jacket. Yesterday, while readying myself for a magazine photo shoot, I came across the leather-and-plaid number seen left. I asked to borrow it for the afternoon, but it turns out they had already sent it over to Mark David Chapman for some event. What about my event, Leto?

The piece is part of Gar-de's Fall/Winter 2008 collection. Gar-de, a recently formed New York design collective, collaborates with fashion types around the world to create seasonal sartorial themes. This go-around: leather. Working with some of the leading leather pundits in Italy, Gar-de has come up with an altogether fresh take on the bomber and other hide-inspired digs. Most striking are the geometric details of each piece—the dramatic collars and asymetrical cuts—which yoke together avant-garde and, um, avant avant-garde. Oh, and Catalano? Watch yourself, because it is so on! Pictures after the jump!
