He's the creative director of Liz Claiborne, hosts Sirius/XM Satellite radio show Tell Me Everything, partners with Target, and joins the Bravo family with his new series, The Fashion Show (premiering May 7). You'd think he'd run off on a spa break with any glimmer of leisure time in his schedule, but no. Nope. The multitasking/multifaceted designer helps normal non-celeb ladies (just like me and you!) with their fashion predicaments on webisodic entity Sketches and Answers, featured on the Isaac website. I had a chance to experience the crème de la crème of fashion advisement as a guest on the web show today.
Isaac can unquestionably get along with anyone. From our 30-minute meeting, I quickly realized that he could force a giggle out of an ex-convict Hell's Angel. If a guest on the web show poses the most ridiculous question ever conceived, or rolls in wearing his designs head-to-toe, asking for "style tips," he'll find some way to improve the look. Gals of all ages gather around the drawing board in his Midtown West studio space for specific fashion and beauty Q&A, and using only Sharpies and Crayolas, the witty host sketches alternatives for his guests' predicaments (ranging from fashion do's and don'ts to dressing age-appropriately). I asked how to go from summertime work casual to party-girl chic, and he recommended a fitted collared shirt with a pencil skirt and a colorful bra. When office duty ends, pop the collar, unbutton to give a peekaboo of the sexy lingerie, and throw on some jewelry. Easy enough, right? Problem solved. Luckily, he allows guests to keep the sketches (I'll be framing mine), and told us to sell 'em on eBay if needed (no one will).
