Upon entering Project Runway alum Korto Momolu show, I could immediately feel the support from family and friends surrounding Momolu and her debut line for Fall 2010. Amid the crowd were many familiar faces from fellow Project Runway Alum’s and numerous America’ s Next Top Model contestants.
I noticed that most models were wearing super long lashes with a hint of orange or magenta, the reoccurring colors of the collection. Each of the model’s high buns was entwined with a long ribbon. Floor-length woven dresses, bone handles and necklaces and a splash of sequins mixed modern chic with a traditional African element. The bold color choices were inspiring; a super long and flowing magenta dress caused whispers in the crowd. Later, it roared when Momolu and her daughter took a bow. The show is not the only success for the designer-- last week Dillard’s released an accessory line she created for the chain.
