It's quite embarrassing when you don’t know how to pronounce a designer’s name. I was surprised then, when I found myself sitting front row at Thuy when two of my seatmates asked me how to pronounce the name of the very designer’s show we were attending. Such a display of vulnerability is, unfortunately, not all the common. I seized the opportunity. I had the answer! Pronounced “Twee”, the Vietnamese-born designer puts all the drama in the details-- and this collection was no exception.

Jewel tones gave a modern flair to classically feminine designs. Bold patterns filled with vibrant reds were cinched at the waist by long leather belts and accompanied by larger than life metallic pearls. I fell in in love with the shiny bronze incorporated into a cocktail dress and skirt-jacket combination. The light caught the fabric and instantly glimmered gold. What woman wouldn’t want to shine?
