New York ● The much anticipated New York outpost of London’s infamous Top Shop has been delayed to March 2009. ● Old Hollywood is opening in Greenpoint this weekend. Tiffany Porter of Williamsburg’s Catbird is at the helm of this new spot, bringing more vintage (and vintage-inspired) items to the hipsters in Brooklyn. Think: feathered necklaces, vintage sweaters, and corsets. In spring of 09, Tiffany plans to create custom dresses based on vintage patterns for girls who like the look, but might have trouble finding the right fit.
Los Angeles ● Milkmade opens this weekend on Abbot Kinney in Venice, look for labels like: Trovata, What Comes Around Goes Around, StillFr, Vanishing Elephant and The Vael Project. ● Opening Ceremony’s new fall merchandise is in, and it leans Japanese: Comme des Garcons, Endpin, G.V.G.V., Green, Hiromi Tsuyoshi, Jean Diadem, John Lawrence Sullivan, Lad Musician, Masterpiece, Mister Hollywood, Nude, Porter, Postalco, Sabatino, Toga, Vlas Blomme, and Whereabouts.
