Forget Jay-Z and Sean Combs. Snoop Dogg is bringing his sweet and skunky style to the clothes rack with Rich & Infamous, his new line unveiled this week in Las Vegas. He'll showcase the threads at fashion shows during his upcoming world tour, and he'll package CDs with product line info. The new business was created Robert Thorne, and plans call for expansion into accessories, grooming, and other home products as well.
"The Rich & Infamous brand is sculpted from Snoop Dogg's trend-savvy classic vision," says Thorne, CEO of the same brand-management firm that built a billion-dollar business around the Olsen Twins. Snoop says the brand reps "a fraternity of sorts -- from presidents to gangsters -- who've been able to endure the burden of gaining wealth at any cost. Garnering equal parts admiration and disdain, these men savor the fruits and relish the spotlight." Those individuals James Cagney, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix, Muhammad Ali, Albert Einstein, Ronald Reagan and Paul Newsman. What, no love for Tommy Chong?
