imageOptimism is all the rage on Fall 09 runways, and at House of Holland in London yesterday, the theme was no different. Wunderkind Henry Holland lit up his catwalk with a Pantone-inspired collection that included color block separates, covetable striped tights, and face time from Agyness Deyn. The model and close friend of Holland’s both opened and closed the show (her only Fashion Week appearance save for Anna Sui back in New York).

Also of note: a bare midriff on the purple pantone-inspired look Holland sent second down the runway. Designers such as Alexander Wang, Preen, and Rachel Roy likewise left models’ midsections bare on their fall runways. Not to mention, at the latter's fall collection presentation, Vogue's own Andre Leon Talley sported a crop top. So, while many people are placing bets on Michelle Obama inciting a trend of arms as the next in-demand erogenous zone, my money is on the midriff.
