There’s a new fashion designer making the leap from womenswear to menswear. According to Style.com, Alexander Wang is the latest designer to add a clothing line for the men to his repertoire. With the transitional move he joins the ranks of Gareth Pugh (who recently debuted his urban warrior-themed menswear collection in Paris), Matthew Williamson, Carlos Miele, and Roland Mouret -- all of whom made names for themselves designing womenswear, but have recently made the move into men’s.

Considering Wang won some serious cash a few months back when he received the much-coveted CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award, he’s in no serious need of startup income. And keeping in mind the momentum he’s incurred thanks to the recent launch of his diffusion line T by Alexander Wang, it seems as good a time as any to expand Wang industries. Besides, considering Wang’s womenswear can tend to lean on the androgynous side, I think it’s safe to assume his men's clothes won’t be too disparate a departure.
