BUTT Magazine is lending some cred to struggling American Apparel. Financial strife and controversial dress code practices aside, the LA-based fashion brand is doing one thing right this week: After teaming up with the European fag rag from Gert Jonkers and Jop Van Bennekom (who also recently launched Fantastic Man), American Apparel is now selling beach towels that are as titillating as its advertisements. "The limited-edition, 31-by-64-inch towels come in the mag's signature pink-and-black palette, and each one features a tasty BUTT model, including artist Brian Kenny and porn star Arpad Miklos," says The Cut. Not all are safe for work, but at $45 a pop, they're a surefire way to ensure all eyes will be on you at the beach this year. Looking for an eye-catching SFW towel option?
Look no further than WOW, the Art Production Fund's Works on Whatever series. This collaboration features works from artists like Raymond Pettibon, Cindy Sherman, Richard Phillips, and Elizabeth Peyton, among other talents, who have transferred some of their most iconic works to towels. Significantly more inexpensive (prices range from $95-$300), a number have already sold out. So, what's it going to be: high-brow or low?
