There's a new player in the flash sale game and it's an online destination called Closetista.com. The decidedly bare-bones site is run by the same parent company as TweetMyStyle.com, but Closetista's approach is much more in sync with the likes of Gilt Groupe, Ideeli, and fellow major players in the timed online sale game—albeit with a significantly lower-budget. Self-described as "a live fashion video channel broadcasting weekly and showcasing upcoming designers and their pieces while offering substantial discounts for a limited time to those who watch the program," Closetista's use of video content—offering sales only to video watchers—is what sets it apart. Up next is a sale and appearance by Brooklyn-based women's wear designer Caitlin Mociun.

"She will feature nine of her products at 30% discount for 24-hours on Closetista.com. Viewers will be able to simultaneously watch and type questions via Twitter for the designer to answer," the site says of Mociun's appearance. Previous designers featured include "Keiko Lynn of Postlapsaria and couture designer Prizy Sebastian," neither of whom I've heard of. But, if Closetista continues to spotlight coveted and independent brands like Mociun, which has a substantial and dedicated following, they've got a shot at maintaining footing in an increasingly competitive space.
