Just a few months ago the Olsens shook the fashion industry when they announced that they'd return to designing clothes for tweens via a line for JC Penney called Olsenboye, despite having achieved both critical and fiscal success thanks to their higher-end lines Elizabeth & James and The Row. Subsequently, the question sitting front and center on every fashion follower's mind: will it be a knock-off version of the two aforementioned fashion brands, or something more befitting back-to-school shoppers in suburban America? Well, first and foremost, there's no denying that the Olsens' latest line is cheap: under $50 to be exact. But thanks to Nylon's first look at the line, now you can judge for yourself whether or not the lower-priced line is something worth pining for.

The first look that caught my eye is a graphic tee that screams Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse... and not in a good way (not to mention few self-respecting shoppers above the age of 25 would sport a t-shirt outfitted with a text reading Olsenboye). Then there's the prep school-inspired blazer equipped with white piping and an anonymous looking crest in place of a pocket -- likewise not appropriate for any shoppers who have already graduated college. But, if you're solely looking for The Row for less, the skirts included in the collection appear to be where it's at. Fashioned in plaids and bright pink fabric with a bow at the waist, for under $50, you won't regret buying them.
